Synergistic Research has been getting a lot of press here and elsewhere about their "UEF"  (Uniform Energy Field) technology including the HFT room acoustic product, the FEQ Frequency Equalizer, the XOT speaker crossover transducer, and the recent upgrade to their cable line, the UEF Tuning Modules.

Their latest evolution of this UEF approach is a design intended to balance close proximity electromagnetic fields in electronic circuits. The "ECT" (Electronic Circuit Transducer) is very similar in size and shape to the HFT's, but specifically designed to be mounted inside of components to improve the function of DAC chips, fuses, IC chips, vacuum tubes, capacitors, and transformers, or on the outside of the component chassis to specifically improve the connectors and switches, and also for general improvement of the electromagnetic environment inside of the chassis.

We also recommend taking a look at the video presentation of the ECT with comments by former Stereophile and Absolute Sound reviewer, Peter Breuninger, on the AVShowrooms site.

The ECT's are electrically non-conductive and are packaged with white museum putty which makes it easy to move them around for testing and evaluation. They also include high-temperature glue dots for more permanent application, especially for use inside the chassis where it may get hot.

These are transducers, converting ultra-high frequencies such as RFI and EMI to more benign uniform frequencies. They are NOT resonance control devices.

But if you can't hear ultra-high frequencies, why does it matter? Because the harmonics of these frequencies ARE audible, and this constitutes a large part of what is commonly referred to as the "noise floor." Reduce this noise floor and the sound is more natural, with better defined and more life-sized images, and a larger and more focused 3D soundstage.
