VTX-Ag Ground Cable Tail (Ea)

VTX-AG Ground Tail adapters are short cables (4") designed to plug into a standard Shunyata Ground Cable using their proprietary STIS v3 terminal system. These adapters make it possible for an Altaira to gain access to and improve the ground plane of virtually any device, regardless of available connection.

Adding Ground Tails to one of Shunyata's Ground Cables eliminates the need to custom fabricate cables for every possible termination, which also ensures ultimate system compatibility! As your gear changes and as the system metamorphisizes, simply swap out Ground Tails to make sure your Altaira gains access to your new component.

All VTX-AG Ground Tails are interchangeable and can be used on any model of STIS v3 enabled Shunyata Ground Cable.

Note: Ground Tails are specially constructed so that ONLY the ground of the connector is live. NO signal or signal wires are connected together. Under no circumstances should anyone use a standard analog or digital interconnect cable to ground components to an Altaira. Equipment damage may result!

VTX-Ag Geometry
This is a unique construction which delivers the best qualities of silver and copper, without imparting any of the negatives associated with either metal. VTX-AG starts with an inner core of pure Silver, over which is wound an outer concentric ring made of pure Copper. VTX-Ag delivers speed and clarity with midrange warmth and three dimensional power.

STIS™ v3 Connectors
This is the most evolved interchangeable terminal system in existence offering incredibly performancce and unsurpassed ease of use. These interchangeable connectors are milled from solid blocks of Tellurium Copper (for the ultimate in connectivity) then gold-plated with pure gold to protect the copper for a lifetime of trouble free operation. STISv3 offers all the performance of a fixed connector but delivers endless flexibility by allowing the end user to change connectors as needed based on the system requirements.

Ultra-High Purity Conductors
Shunyata Research uses only the highest purity of copper available for the production of its wire products. ‌‌OFE Alloy 101 or ‌‌C10100 is the highest grade of copper with a minimum 99.99% purity and a conductivity rating of 101% IACS. OFE stands for oxygen-free electrolytic and supersedes the term OFHC (oxygen-free high conductivity). ‌‌C10100 is the only grade of copper that comes with a written certification of purity. Certified by ASTM F68 ‌‌C10100.

Fluorocarbon Dielectrics (aka insulation)
These are usually only found in wire used in the aerospace industry, satellites and only the most expensive audiophile cabling. This dielectric material has special electrical characteristics; very low dielectric absorption, high dielectric strength and exceptional heat resistance.  When used in audio and power cables it reduces the perception of dynamic compression and improves low-level resolution and clarity.

Kinetic Phase Inversion Process (aka KPIP v2™)
This is a type of burn-in process developed exclusively by Shunyata Research. Each cable gets four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines the conductor metals at the atomic level! This process dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.
