More on the “Big Dust Off”

In this 20-minute AnalogPlanet video Michael Fremer compared nine LP brushes ranging in price from $29.95 to $340 on their ability to: “Dust off a dirty record... and see which does the best job."

About 18 mins in, Mikey tries the Hart Brush:

”That is extremely effective... very, very good. Not only did it get the surface dirt out... but this one actually got a lot of the grittier dirt that seemed to be embedded in the grooves. {The record} is really clean. I’m surprised. I’m impressed. I’m impressed by that one.”

In his final comments, Fremer considered the Hart Brush the top performer, its closest rival a $340 German brush!

The Hart MK6 Brush

The Hart's design is unique in that it features two different types of conductive fibers in a row, placed back-to-back. One set is Polyester Polyamide and the other is Polypropylene. The white fibers are used first to do general sweeping, then flip the brush 180* and use the brown fibers as a final sweep. This combination of high-tech synthetic materials "sweeps" deep down into the groove, attracting and clearing the groove of debris.
