The SHD duplex outlet employs heavy duty copper contacts with either a Gold or Rhodium plating. Audio Magic disassembles the duplex and coats the interior body of the duplex with a coat of their dampening material and then applies a coat of their special Black Out paint to remove EMI and RF.
After this process they install their i-Core slugs in 4 chambers. These hold the contacts in place, which enhances current flow. After this, the chambers are filled with beeswax to further improve dampening.
The final step is to top it all off with their Nano Streaming process which reduces micro-static discharge of all metal parts, as well as improve conductivity. The SHD is the Audio Magic's State of the Art in Duplex technology.
Plating Notes: Gold plating offers a warmer, richer, and slightly more relaxed presentation. Rhodium plating is initially brighter and edgier, but eventually settles down to a more colorful presentation, with greater dynamic range, better rhythm & pacing and is more focused.
