P-285 T 1/4" TRS Phone Plug - USED

P-285T 6.3mm stereo phone plug. The P-285T is a straight stereo phone plug that fits plugs up to an outer diameter of 8.5 mm.

Oyaide takes pride in being "MADE IN JAPAN." The 1/4" Phone Plug "P-Series" was born from a strong desire to pursue universality amidst rapidly changing values. What's more, its stylish appearance belies its powerful, clear sound.

A contact point without waste . This began with reducing the number of components. To integrate the sleeve and main body, they were cut out from a single rod using CNC machining. The tip was also machined in the same way, making it possible to connect the cable directly to the tip without the need for a connection guide plate. By eliminating these unnecessary contact points, Oyaide has achieved both mechanical strength and lossless transmission characteristics. ( Monaural straight type only )

Usability and Functionality
The knurling at the base of the cap not only serves as a non-slip feature, but also adds to the design. To meet diverse needs, the P Series offers two cable outer diameter options: the P-275M accommodates cables up to 7.5mm, while the P-285M accommodates cables up to 8.5mm. The penetration section is also chamfered to prevent cable breakage due to bending. Furthermore, the usability of the P Series extends to its dimensions. Rather than complying with JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards), the connectors conform to the EIA-453 standard, just like SwitchCraft of the United States, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of domestic and imported equipment.

Material
The material used is brass, which complies with the European RoHS Directive. Electroless nickel plating is used for plating, maintaining a uniform surface thickness and preventing magnetic attraction.
Teflon, which has excellent electrical and insulating properties, is used for the insulation between the tip and sleeve. Furthermore, bakelite is used for the insulation inside the main body, not only for its insulating properties but also to firmly secure the tip. In this way, the P Series is designed with a balanced combination of multiple elements from various perspectives, giving it a unique identity.
