Ground Block

Synergistic Research's Ground Block is the best place to start when grounding your system! Simple, inexpensive and highly effective, this is the entry to proper system grounding. Featuring 16 mini-banana inputs and a 3m cable to connect the Ground Block to the wall, this little guy is easy to install and easy to hide! Machined from an aluminum block, it's also incredibly sturdy and intended for a lifetime of noise reduction.

We've known for decades that a solid “Star” ground dramatically reduces the noise floor of any system. The Ground Block is the next natural progression of this process, allowing Synergistic's Ground Plane technology to be applied more broadly to your entire system. Initially intended merely for grounding Synergistic's own technology as featured in their upper level cables, PowerCell conditioners etc, it turns out the Ground Block is actually phenomenal for grounding audio components as well! 

Adding a Ground Block to your system is easy! The Block itself has sixteen ports on the top, simply connect one of Synergistic's Ground Cables from your component to the Ground Block, then connect the Ground Block to the wall and you'll start to hear an immediate improvement as these cables start draining away excess energy from the system!

When it comes to Synergistic Ground Cables you have two choices: Most Ground Block owners start with the very affordable Foundation series Ground Cables, which are available in a wide array of lengths and virtually every connector anyone could ever need. These are a great entry point for most people looking to dip a toe into grounding.

For those looking to take a bigger step there is an upgrade path! Virtually any component can be grounded to the Ground Block. As long as it has a place to connect a ground wire to, it can be connected to a Ground Block! All sorts of components benefit from grounding to a Ground Block; Turntables, Phono stages, DACs, Transports, Music Servers, Preamps, Integrated Amplifiers, Ethernet Switches, Subwoofers, Computers, TVs, the list goes on and on. There IS an "off the menu" use for the Ground Block that we recommend to those looking for a bit of an advantage. We recommend using one to isolate all the components of a specific type together and then send a single ground connection down to a larger Active Ground Block. We've found that this is a great way to isolate the ground plane of an analog rig from the ground plane of the rest of the system. Connect the tonearm, phono preamp, even an MC Step-up transformer (if you have one) to the Ground Block and then connect a single Ground Cable from the Ground Block to a larger Active Ground Block. Astonishingly effective. Perhaps isolate your digital streaming gear from the rest of your system. The uses for a Ground Block are endless and because it's so small, it can be used virtually anywhere!

All Ground Block models include the following accessories:
• 4 each (4 ft) basic ground extension cable (Mini Female Banana to Mini-Male Banana)*
• 2 each (8 ft) basic ground extension cable (Mini Female Banana to Mini-Male Banana)*
• 1 each (10 ft) basic ground cable terminated as Standard Banana to Wall Plug for primary grounding

* These cables are primarily for connecting SR's cables to the Ground Block. If like most people who buy these Ground Blocks you don't have SR cables with a Ground Plane, you can simply leave these cables in the box.
