Furutech’s Pure Transmission FI-50 NCF Piezo Ceramic series connector bodies and housings feature several breakthrough construction techniques

A multilayer nonmagnetic stainless steel and silver plated carbon fiber shell incorporates a special damping and insulating acetal copolymer. Earth/Ground Jumper System (EGJS)
Furutech's engineers are obsessed with the concept of Pure Transmission. This philosophy is about preserving all the music while keeping distortion out. This passion led them to an extraordinary discovery, a way to reduce all manner of electromagnetic (EM) interference while simultaneously stabilizing the EM field created by the cable. EGJS is so powerful and unique that it was granted US Patent No. 6,669,491.

How it Works
The way the EGJS works is deceptively simple. The massive outer metal shell of the FI-50 series connector is connected (internally) directly to the ground conductor of the power cable. Grounding the AC connector in this way means that radiated noise striking the FI-50 is shunted directly to the AC ground.

Why it Works
To understand why this tech is so innovative and effective, one must first understand how power cords are constructed. Inside the jacket of a power cord, the conductors are nestled in shielding and their geometry is held together by the jacket. Shielding and geometry run the length of the cord, but there's a vulnerability. A gap in the shield. In order for the cable to be terminated with AC plugs, the shielding right at the ends must be removed and the geometry unraveled so that the wires can be fitted into their plugs.

To be clear, we're not talking about inches. This gap is less than a few centimeters, but in a high-end power cord, this causes enough of a break in the protection so that noise can get in. The EGJS creates something very much like a Faraday cage at either end of the cable, keeping noise out while also stabilizing the EM field within the connector.

Stabilizing the EM Field
Current flowing through the power connector will create a magnetic field. Furutech found the magnetic field can induce current flow (and a small magnetic field) in the screws holding the connector together! These magnetic fields interfere with the larger magnetic field around the conductor and connector. The EGJS stabilizes this by providing a pathway to ground, thus keeping EM disturbance to a minimum.

The best part about this system is that it's already built into the connector! Simply tighten down all the screws and your cable is protected and optimized.
