CGMS spades are heavy duty spades, machined by Cardas, from high-purity billet copper. For durability, the spades are then protected with a rhodium flash over silver-plate.
Each spade has a slight angle of 13° to increase cable clearance and ease of use. Good soldering skills and a good soldering iron are required to work with these spades. Cardas provides a hole drilled in the side of each spade to allow solder to be directly inserted into the connector.
There are two fork widths (6mm and 9mm) and three variations on what gauge wire these spades will accept:
The XS variant will accept wire up to 7AWG
The M variant will accept wire up to 4AWG
The L variant will accept wire up to a whopping 2AWG!
