Network Router UEF

The Synergistic Research Network Router UEF is the world’s only network router guaranteed to improve your system’s performance. Building on the success of Synergistic's Ethernet Switch UEF, they applied similar UEF technology to create a network router which dramatically improves all aspects of your system’s performance. During the one-year development program, they evaluated dozens of router boards, searching for the best-sounding circuit as a base to apply their many technologies.

They then adapted their award-winning linear power supply, initially developed for the Limited Production Galileo PowerCell, plus a patented electromagnetic cell to condition AC entering the unit as well as the digital signal exiting the Network Router UEF. Then, they incorporated a Dual Frequency ULF generator with technology first developed for the FEQ Carbon to actively shield and condition the entire unit with harmonics of the Earth’s Schumann Resonance. For the best possible shielding and control of mechanical vibrations, the active circuit is fitted to a chassis machined from a solid billet of aircraft aluminum with a carbon fiber lid for optimal resonance control. To voice the router, they developed a custom Carbon Fiber Tuning Disc and affixed it to the circuit for added harmonic texture and liquidity in the sound field. Lastly, they include a Pink Fuse (Standard) to lower noise floor and improve holographic realism.

Important Note: The Synergistic Research Network Router UEF does not include internal WiFi functionality. This deliberate omission ensures optimal performance by keeping the WiFi signal isolated from the Network Router. Your home's WiFi network will not be visible to any component plugged into the Router. In order to use your phone or tablet to control your DAC or Streamer, you will need to purchase and connect a separate Wireless Access Point to the SR Network Router UEF. This means you're setting up a purpose built WiFi network exclusively for the audio system.

Pro-Tip: A WiFi router is not the same as a Wireless Access Point. A WiFi router will not work for this purpose and besides even very good Wireless Access Points are not very expensive. Synergistic has extensively tested a number of "access points" and found little difference in performance and no impact on overall Router performance. When setting up your Wireless Access Point, you must set a different SSID (aka a different network) than your existing home network.

Solid Billet Aluminum Chassis with Active EM conditioning

A. The Network Router UEF utilizes a combination of advanced SR technologies and components to enhance its performance. It begins with a high-performance router circuit, which is integrated into a chassis made of billet aluminum and carbon fiber. The chassis is further enhanced with carbon fiber footers for vibration control. Internally, the router is equipped with an SR Linear Power Supply (similar to an SR LPS UEF), an Electromagnetic conditioning cell (similar to a Tranquility Pod), a ULF generator (similar to an FEQ Carbon), and a passive ground conditioner (similar to an SR Ground Block). Finally, the unit undergoes high voltage conditioning treatments and is fine-tuned using SR Carbon Tuning Discs placed strategically in specific locations inside.

Q. Does the Network Router UEF have built-in WiFi?
A. The Synergistic Research Network Router UEF does not include internal WiFi functionality. If your system requires a wireless connection (phone, tablet, etc.), it is necessary to connect a separate access point to the SR Network Router UEF. There are a number of Wireless Access Points on the market at a variety of affordable prices, simply choose one from a reputable manufacturer.

Q. Do I still need an SR Ethernet Switch UEF when using a Network Router UEF?
A. For achieving the highest performance, we highly recommend utilizing both the Network Router UEF and an SR Ethernet Switch UEF together. Although the Network Router can be used to connect your components directly, the SR Network Router UEF and Ethernet Switch UEF are designed to do two different functions. The Network Router UEF creates an isolated network specifically designed for your audio system, separate from your smart devices, TVs, appliances, etc. While the SR Ethernet Switch UEF is designed to regenerate and duplicate the signal generated by the Network Router UEF. By combining the functionalities of both devices, you can attain the ultimate digital playback experience.

Q. Is the Network Router UEF difficult to install?
A. The Network Router UEF has been designed and configured to provide a plug-and-play experience, making the installation process as straightforward as possible. Here are the steps to follow:
    1.    Connect your existing network (modem, router, or switch) to the “IN” port on the Network Router UEF.
    2.    Next, connect either your switch (recommended) or your components directly to the Network Router UEF.
    3.    If WiFi is required, set up and connect a WiFi access point to the Network Router UEF, and then connect your WiFi device to the access point.
