MP 200 G3 Multi Source Player
The MP 200 G3 was developed with the design objective of combining compact dimensions with a wide range of source options. From Bluetooth and CD playback to the latest streaming and radio technologies, the unit is designed to handle all sources at their highest possible performance level.
The MP 200 G3 supports FM, FM-HD, and DAB+ radio reception, while also enabling convenient streaming from mobile devices and local network storage devices. External digital sources likewise benefit from its high-quality signal processing capabilities.
Although the MP 200 G3 is compatible with a wide range of D/A converters, its design is optimized to achieve particular synergy with the Series 200 components, including the DAC 200 and HA 200. Through the T+A SYS Link interface, control data is exchanged and audio signals are routed via the most appropriate signal paths. In combination with the T+A MusicNavigator app, the MP 200 G3 can function as the central control unit of a complete high-performance audio system.
The T+A Audiophile Streaming Architecture (third generation) establishes a seamless high-quality connection between the Series 200 and the digital audio world. During its development, the focus was placed not only on maximizing sonic performance but also on expanding the diversity of available sources.
The Streaming Generation 3 network boards process incoming signals via WLAN and LAN, enabling HV-series streamers to access services such as Deezer, Qobuz, and TIDAL, while also supporting playback of local network files up to 192 kHz / 24-bit (HD). In addition, content from mobile devices can be streamed via Connect services or AirPlay in audiophile quality.
Beyond these connectivity options, each streaming-capable HV device also supports playback via Bluetooth using aptX HD™ technology, ensuring high-quality wireless audio transmission. A further advancement of this architecture is the ability to stream DSD files natively from network sources for the first time. To preserve signal integrity, these streams are routed directly to the T+A True 1-Bit DAC, which processes DSD data in its native bitstream form without intermediate conversion.
This combination of wide source compatibility and uncompromising sound quality reflects a core principle of T+A design philosophy.
In addition, the aptX HD™ implementation in the MP 200 G3 ensures that mobile wireless transmission does not compromise audio quality. Within the constraints of Bluetooth bandwidth, the system is capable of handling even high-quality, uncompressed FLAC files with excellent fidelity.
The MP 200 G3’s digital connecting board features two coaxial S/PDIF inputs and one optical input, enabling the connection of a wide range of external sources, including set-top boxes, disc drives, and memory devices. A dedicated S/PDIF output is also provided for system integration.
Signal transfer and processing are carried out at high-definition (HD) quality, ensuring accurate and transparent handling of incoming digital audio signals throughout the playback chain.
The app control system provides full access to all functions of the MP 200 G3, including streaming services, radio stations, and detailed configuration of all connected system components. It enables comprehensive system management and fine adjustment of device settings.
The MP 200 G3, in combination with the T+A MusicNavigator app developed in Herford, offers a convenient and complete control solution for iOS and Android devices.
The front panels of the Series 200 components are designed for ergonomic operation, combining direct-access buttons with an integrated jog dial (rotary push encoder) for intuitive local control.
In addition to internet radio access, which is integrated into the MP 200 G3’s streaming client, the device also provides three further radio reception options: FM, FM-HD, and DAB+. The high sensitivity of the tuner contributes significantly to its exceptional sound quality, while the digital intermediate frequency processing, demodulation stages, and stereo decoder output architecture all play an important role in performance.
It is the intelligent combination of these design elements that enables traditional radio sources to be reproduced at a remarkably high level, whether received via cable or antenna.
Although digital streaming has become the dominant source in modern audio reproduction, T+A continues to further develop CD transport technology in order to preserve full flexibility in music playback. This ensures users retain complete freedom in selecting their preferred listening sources.
The slot-loading CD mechanism of the MP 200 G3 has been specifically designed to fit seamlessly into the available chassis space. It offers short access times and an advanced error correction system, enabling virtually instantaneous playback after disc insertion and ensuring stable, error-free operation throughout playback.
