Q-10 Signature Speaker Cable (Pair)

$470.00

The award-winning Q-10 Signature speaker cable features a unique four conductor multiple gauge array, and is manufactured using advanced winding geometries, which enhances performance and transparency, by tightly controlling magnetic fields.

The conductors are DH Labs’ proprietary treated silver-coated Continuous CrystalTM copper. With an oxygen content of only 7 parts per million, these conductors have an ultra-smooth surface, to deliver the highest possible sound quality. The dielectric is pure PTFE in a very precise, pressurized extrusion process. The electrical and physical properties of PTFE make it an ideal dielectric material for speaker cables.

The combination of two 12 AWG and two 14 AWG conductors equates to a robust 10 AWG cable to satisfy different applications. Q-10 Signature can be run straight (aka Full Range), as an Internal Bi-Wire, or as an External Bi-Wire. Each of these applications allows the listener to experience the impressive imaging and completely neutral tonal balance – a hallmark of DH Labs cables. Exemplary background detailing, and a richer, fuller harmonic structure surround the extended bass response that one would expect from the Q-10 Signature.

The Q-10 Signature is manufactured in the U.S.A. to standards that exceed military specifications. Every spool is carefully tested before leaving the factory. We invite you to audition the Q-10 Signature and hear what many audiophiles consider the ultimate speaker cable.

DH Labs offers two different options for those with Bi-Wire speakers. Internal BiWire and External BiWire.

Internal BiWire Configuration
Internal BiWire keeps the visual impact to a minimum by running a single cable to each speaker and then simply splitting the conductors at the speaker end. This configuration splits the internal conductors of Q-10 in a 60/40 ratio, tasking the larger pair of 12AWG conductors to the bass and the smaller pair of 14AWG conductors to the high frequencies. Due to the reduced gauge available for each section, of the speaker, internal biwire works best for 2-way bookshelf speakers, 2-way tower speakers and 2.5-way tower speakers.

External BiWire Configuration (This option can be found on the External Bi-Wire Q-10 page)
Also called Double BiWire, this is the absolute best configuration for any bi-wire speaker. Built using two stereo pairs of Q-10, this configuration doubles the effective gauge in the signal path for each speaker vs using jumpers and a whopping 400% increase in gauge vs an Internal BiWire configuration! All this extra gauge halves the line resistance, making it easier for the amplifier to power the speakers and delivering a huge improvement in overall performance. The effect is nothing short of stunning as the speakers now have virtually unlimited access to all the power the amp can output. Fully isolating the upper section of the speaker from the lower optimizes both sections for impressive focus and drive. Everything gets better, from low-level detail retrieval to top-level dynamics. The best part is, the speaker cables operate just like any other Bi-Wire speaker cables! The two speaker cable legs for each channel are combined at the amp end making it easy to connect. Each channel then splits into two separate runs of speaker cable, to be connected at the speaker end. Might sound complicated, but it's very intuitive in person.

NOTE: Please remember to remove your speaker's Bi-Wire  Jumpers before connecting Bi-Wire speaker cables. Leaving them in the signal path is a definite performance compromise. For safe keeping, store them with your speaker's boxes.
