The process of making glass with this level of perfection is very demanding, requiring careful control over the materials and processes involved.

Final Testing includes:

• Fiber geometry inspection, including core, cladding and coating
• Tensile strength
• Bandwidth capacity
• Attenuation at different wavelengths
• Chromatic dispersion & numerical aperture

We then add custom machined gold-plated connectors with precision-polished optical-grade lens surfaces at the connection points for reduced jitter.

NOTE: Glass Master ships with small rubber nubbies on each end to protect the highly polished optical fibers and should be removed before first use. They simply slide off. We always recommend keeping these, because if the cable ever needs to be stored or shipped, putting these back on will preserve optimal function.
