Atmosphere SX Reference USB Cable

Every Atmosphere SX Reference USB Cable is voiced to deliver natural musicality so you can enjoy listening for hours, especially when streaming via Tidal, Qobuz or listening from a music server, with no loss of resolution, soundstage scale or realism. To this end, Synergistic's highest performance Atmosphere USB cable comes equipped with a number of features to improve its fidelity.

The first is a UEF Ground Plane running from tip to tip for a lower noise floor. Next, the SX Reference USB is designed to work with the included Gold or Silver UEF Tuning Circuits. These "bullets" plug into the cable and are not in the signal path, allowing you to fine-tune the sound of your system from precise detail and air when using the Silver circuit, to musical warmth and liquidity when the Gold circuit is connected. Simply select the option that sounds most neutral to you in your system. Other design features include UEF Graphene Shielding, a new conductor alloy, the new Atmosphere SX Shielding Matrix, and a new conditioning process first developed for Synergistic's Blue Fuses. The sum of these design decisions has created an USB cable which sets a new standard for ultra resolution and holographic scale combined with a fatigue-free emotional connection to your favorite music.

Once Atmosphere SX achieved a natural and holographic performance which superseded its predecessors, Synergistic set out to take performance even further with a new high voltage conditioning process. They experimented with dozens of frequencies in different combinations over various time periods before landing on just the right mix. This more advanced process applies a sweeping frequency plot over an extended duration. To achieve this, Synergistic had to develop a new more powerful Tesla Coil to handle the excess heat generated during these long conditioning sessions. Once finalized, this new conditioning process dubbed SRX conditioning far exceeded expectations and delivered holographic realism and timbral accuracy far beyond any previous conditioning protocol. 

UEF Shielding
The previous Atmosphere X Series Cables started as an experiment to explore ways of improving UEF Shielding by placing UEF Tech at strategic grid points on the shields of Atmosphere cables, which with the SX series is now called Matrix Shielding. Matrix Shielding arranges UEF elements on a grid pattern of the cable's shield to lower its noise floor. Atmosphere SX refines Matrix Shielding further by using new Carbon Fibre UEF Tuning Discs developed expressly for Atmosphere SX to enhance the loom's ability to cancel noise that would otherwise cause high frequencies to sound harsh or fatiguing. As a result of Synergistic's ongoing research into UEF Shielding, they've been able to push the resolution envelope even further.

UEF Ground Plane
Atmosphere SX Digital interconnects incorporate the capability to separately ground the shield of the cable! Included in the box is a basic  SR Ground cable which allows the cable to be plugged into a wall outlet to dump energy which hits the shield into your home's AC Ground plane. A better option is to connect your Atmosphere SX Digital Cable to a Synergistic Research Ground Block (sold separately) for a huge improvement in black levels, tonal balance and air/space within the soundstage. Benefits of a Ground Block include a noticeable increase in deep bass power and weight, a more holographic sound field, smoother high frequencies with greater extension and ‘air’, a more present and layered mid-range, increased tonal density with an apparent increase in resolution.

SRX XL Quantum Tunneling
After the cable is completely assembled all connections and cabling are treated with 1,000,000 volts of electricity at specific frequencies and pulse modulations, creating a canal in the conductor material and contact points at the molecular level that allows electrons to flow more freely. This allows the maximum amount of low-level information through the conductors and provides for the highest amount of realism in your music

SRX XL High Voltage Conditioning
The new SRX XL High Voltage Conditioning is Synergistic's most advanced process for treating cables with 1,000,000 volts of electricity at specific frequencies and pulse modulations for long durations, creating a canal in the conductor material and contact points at the molecular level that allows electrons to flow more freely. This new process improves upon the SRX High Voltage Conditioning process by employing new extended duration sweeping frequency plots and advancements to our Tesla Coil, resulting in SRX XL cables to sound even more open and accurate than the cables before them. For Foundation SX XL, this exact conditioning process contributes to the large performance improvement in this series, bringing the voicing of Foundation SX XL closer to that of SRX XL.

Proprietary UEF Treatment
Graphene is applied directly to the XLR connectors, significantly reducing the noise floor and allowing a purer signal to transfer with less grain. This reveals greater warmth and detail. Each cable also receives a secondary UEF Blue Treatment, which was originally developed for SR Blue Fuses.

With Atmosphere SX Digital, Synergistic made the conscious decision to reformulate and re-voice their legendary Galileo Tuning Modules with technology originally designed for the ultra-resolution Galileo series. The Atmosphere SX Digital series ships with both Gold and Silver Bullets. Silver Bullets provide more detail with greater warmth than the prior Galileo Silver Bullets. SX Gold Bullets impart even greater musical fidelity with liquid smoothness and a touch more air and detail than their predecessors.

For best results, we recommended you first allow your Synergistic cable to settle into your system for about 100 hours without disconnecting it or handling it and without Gold or Silver Bullets attached. Once the initial burn-in period is past, then we suggest you listen first with Gold, and then with Silver. There is no wrong answer, simply pick the option that makes the best music in your system. There's also no harm in changing your mind later!
