The BENCHMARK Series is RSX’s highest value line. While still retaining the hand termination of all other RSX products, the cable portion of every BENCHMARK cable Is specifically designed by Roger Skoff to be custom machine manufactured. This saves hours of hand labor per cable as compared to RSX’s other lines and RSX uses the savings to buy better materials and technologies to provide truly remarkable performance at its very modest price point. The “ER” in all BENCHMARK product names stands for Enhanced Resolution and that’s what it delivers.
ER-41 DIGITAL INTERCONNECTS
This significant variant on the BENCHMARK format recognizes the issues ofmegahertz digital transmission and characteristic impedance matching to provide truly outstanding digital performance. ER-41 Digital Interconnects are available with ultra-low mass gold-plated RCA connectors or with RSX XLR connectors for AES/EBU operation.
RSX Technologies’ I.C.E. (Intensified Cryogenic Enhancement) process is a multi stage cryogenic treatment engineered specifically for high performance audio conductors. Unlike standard cryo—which uses a single freeze/hold/thaw cycle—I.C.E. employs multiple freeze cycles, lower temperatures, precise hold periods, and controlled partial thaws to more completely and permanently optimize copper’s molecular structure.
The I.C.E. process uses:
- Lower minimum temperatures than standard cryo
- Multiple freeze cycles, each deeper and more precisely timed
- Stabilizing hold periods that allow molecular structures to settle
- Partial thaw intervals that relieve internal stresses
- A final deep freeze pass that permanently “locks in” the optimized lattice
The result is cleaner grain boundaries, reduced micro distortion, and smoother electron flow. I.C.E. treated RSX cables deliver greater clarity, more detail, faster transients, and a deeper, wider soundstage. Spatial cues become more precise, dynamics more natural, and the overall presentation more lifelike.
