Our main goal at Sound Anchors when we were designing new stands for the B&W 802 Nautilus was toimprove the speaker performance. We did this by using a combination of several proven methods.
1. Elevate the speaker slightly
2. Mass loadthe system
3. Make the speaker more stable
4. Eliminate cabinet movement
5. Lessen uncontrolled energy transfer to the listening room
Sound Anchor 802 Nautilus Stands do not fasten to the speakers. The speaker simply sits on top of the stand with three speciallychosen points of contact. These points were selected for their strength, energy transmission characteristics and sound quality. Installation is as simple aslifting the speaker up onto the stand. The speaker is not modified or damaged in any way.
Sound Anchor 802 Nautilus Stands come from the factoryfilled with our proprietary filling that has been optimized to eliminate unwanted resonance. You do not need to mess with sand or shot and there is no sonicadvantage in doing so.
Sound Anchor 802 Nautilus Stands can be set up with 3 spikes, 4 spikes or 4 casters. When 802 Nautilus speakers are placedon spiked Sound Anchor Stands the transfer of energy to the floor is reduced and the overall sound of your system is substantially improved. Casters donot deliver the same performance as spikes but they do allow the speakers to be easily moved.
