Wiper Replacement (Pair)

Before you get started, you'll want:
     Set of Replacement Wipers
     A couple of paper towels

Optional: 
     A drop of dish soap
     A Q-Tip or a Toothpick

Step One: Removing the Microfiber Barrels
Although not strictly necessary, taking the barrels out makes it much easier to replace the wipers. Besides, if you're replacing your wipers, it's likely time to replace your barrels anyway. The barrels are easily removed by simply tugging them upwards and they should pop free. Set them down on the paper towels so they don't drip all over the place. You will now have plenty of room to remove the wipers.

Step Two: Removing the Wipers
Gripping the thin part of one of the wipers, gently tug until the wiper starts to move. Once the rail-edge part of the wiper has been exposed, change your grip to that part and continue to pull. At this point, the wiper should be easily pulled out of the machine. Repeat the previous steps on the second wiper. When complete, the used wipers may be discarded.

Step Three: Inserting the new Wipers
Apply a very small drop of dish soap along the rail-edge of each replacement wiper and use the Q-Tip or toothpick to spread it across the entire rail-edge, ensuring not to get any on the slim edge of the wiper. Less is more here, you really don't need much and the soap is merely to aid in sliding the new wiper in. This is considered an optional step, because not every wiper replacement will require the dish soap, however, it can make it quite a bit easier and quicker to install. Try not to get the dish soap on your fingers because that will make the wiper slippery and hard to grip. Insert the rail-edge side of the wiper into the holder and push gently on the rail-edge while tugging gently on the wiper. Slide the wiper all the way to the back of the track, then do the same on the other side. If you used dish soap, then use a wet paper towel to gently wipe both sides of the wipers to ensure there's no dish soap residue remaining on them.

Pro-tip: Orient the new wipers so that the blades are tilting slightly upwards, they should be almost touching. This will provide the best results during operation.

Step Four: Re-Installing the Microfiber Barrels
Hopefully, you're installing fresh microfiber barrels! Move each metal “guide pin” for each black gear inside the machine to the 6 o’clock position (as you're facing the front of the machine), this makes it much easier to line up the guide pins and reinstall each barrel. You're done!
