Crafted with precision, the housing of the SPU #1 cartridges is constructed from a combination of grinded wood and resin composite and features High Purity Copper armature windings and terminal leads, ensuring pristine signal transmission.

The SPU #1 E model takes sound reproduction to the next level with its elliptical stylus profile, providing a more detailed sound reproduction and expansive imaging.

With their universal connector, the SPU #1 models ensure the ability to mount the units in a wider range of tonearms with universal (SME) mount, e.g., the Ortofon Reference tonearms. The combination of SPU #1, the ST-7 Moving Coil transformer and Ortofon Reference tonearms gives a supreme experience. Sonically, the SPU #1 models are genuine SPUs, known for their full-bodied and powerful music image, minimum of intermodulation distortion, and an impressive channel separation, a perfect solution for the playback of stereo recordings.

Ortofon-branded products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of original retail purchase when used in accordance with Ortofon’s user manuals. If a defect arises during the warranty period, Ortofon, at its option will (1) repair the product at no charge or (2) exchange the product with one of equivalent functionality or one that is at least functionally equivalent to the product it replaces. This warranty excludes damage resulting from abuse, accident, modifications, unauthorized repairs, improper installation, or other causes that are not defects in materials and workmanship as well as normal depletion of consumable parts such as styli unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
