The Acoustic System Diffuser is a small Sound Body. A sandwich of two pieces of light maple with a washer of harder wood between. The body is hollowed out with a small hole in the top to connect the cavity to the outside world. This device acts like a miniature Helmholtz resonator and can be adjusted by rotating the wood’s grain left or right which allows the the dot to focus the image.
When used with Acoustic System Sugar Cubes, these become a very powerful room acoustic enhancer. Although it takes some trial and error to set up the grid, this system gives the user unprecedented control over how the room responds and greatly improves this major musical contributor.
