One of the most enjoyable components we’ve played with recently is the 65V-1 tube integrated amp ($3995) from Rogers High Fidelity.  Like all Rogers tube amps, the 65V-1 sounds glorious, is hand-built in New York, features Mil-Spec parts, point-to-point wiring and is equipped with auto-bias.

We admit that part of what got us so excited about this $3995 tube integrated is the remote control; based on the circuit designed for the top line 34S-1 amp ($20k), the 65V-1 can be controlled with your iPad via Bluetooth. Tap your iPad to adjust the volume, switch sources, even put the amp in standby (or take it back out). Another big draw is the ability to switch between Ultralinear and Triode, on the fly, from your chair, across the room. The app also displays the amp’s current state and doubles as a power meter. The best part is that all the Bluetooth functionality is entirely out of the signal path, the app simply controls the amp’s settings, nothing else.

The 65V-1 is an exceptionally high-quality, made in the USA, tube integrated with a lifetime warranty, which makes owning valves painless! What more could you ask for?
