November 1 update

As the weather turns colder and activities move inside we are reinforcing our commitment to safety in our workplace. We continue to split the workforce into remote and in-office personnel keeping the on-site staffing to a minimum while adhering to mask and distancing best practices.

We also continue to concentrate on safe material handling. This includes the continuing operation of The Cable Company Lending Library. We have excellent sanitation procedures in place, but this does lead to some unavoidable shipping delays.

Our showrooms and offices continue to be closed to the public.



June 18 2020 Update

We continue to operate as close to normally as possible while having the majority of our staff working from home. We have now re-opened The Cable Company Library with new CDC best practice handling and sanitation procedures in place. We are busy clearing the 3 month backlog of requests for products from the Library and thank you for your patience during our pause.



March 2020

I hope this e-mail finds you and your family safe and healthy. I am writing with an update on current Cable Company operations and our impressions of the broader audio industry.

All of our New Hope-based consultants, customer service, and most administrative staff are working remotely. This has reduced our in-office staffing by 80% allowing maximum social distancing for our remaining in-office staff, the ones who are primarily involved with the nuts and bolts of order fulfillment. 

To further protect our in-office staff we have implemented a 3 day "quarantine" for incoming packages and a host of additional efforts to protect and sanitize our workplace. These new procedures allow for more or less "normal" operations, including consultations and order fulfillment. The Lending Library program, however, was suspended at the end of February, and the New Hope sound rooms remain closed to visitors. 

We are working diligently with our suppliers to have them ship orders directly to our US customers. This reduces handling and shortens delivery times. So far our vendors, who are mostly small audiophile companies like us, are also able to continue operating, having taken roughly the same measures.

After 30 years in business, we thought we'd seen it all. We've built our company for the long haul, and with your support we will continue to be here for you during these difficult times, no matter how long it takes!

In the meantime we are grateful for what we have and we encourage everyone to be careful, kind, and support your communities. Please consider donating to Food Banks and other community outreach resources, or perhaps go online and purchase a gift certificate to use later at your favorite restaurant. Local arts organizations will need your help too.
