Synergistic Research's The Music Cable
Using a computer to download music for home audio playback has become practically "mainstream" in recent years. The major record companies are certainly encouraging consumers to download music, which coincides with the disappearance of many music retailers from the scene.

With all of the available DAC's, digital and analog cables, computer hardware and software, power cords, and interfaces, the beginner, and even some of the more advanced audiophiles that have entered the computer audio arena have been faced with a myriad of choices and compatibility issues leading to frustration, rather than satisfaction.

Synergistic Research's The Music Cable has taken the guesswork and trial and error out of the equation so that anyone with a computer can purchase a foolproof, reference-level computer-based audio system ready to connect from the USB output on your computer into any line level input on your preamp or integrated amp.

"The Music Cable" incorporates a state-of-the-art 24 bit DAC with an Actively-Shielded, hard-wired USB interface that includes these built-ins:
- a PowerCell AC line conditioner for the DAC,
- a Galileo Universal Interconnect Cell and
- a pair of the new "Element Tungsten" interconnects (much more on these later).

In addition the cables, and therefore the whole analog signal, can be tuned to the listener's system by using the three (black, gray, or silver) Enigma circuits.

There is well over $7000 worth of technology included with the Music Cable system and the end result is the elimination of guesswork and/or incompatibility between different products. Plug it in, and have reference level sound delivered to your system right out of the box.

The Music Cable has an introductory price of $3599 (for the 120V version in the standard 2m length end to end), and includes everything you need to get high quality, high resolution music from your computer to your system. No muss, no fuss, no guesswork - just exceptional results.

Available soon for in-home audition through The Cable Library. Book now!

Synergistic Research's new Element series Speaker cables and Interconnects
When Synergistic Research unveiled its cost-no-object, award-winning Galileo speaker cables and interconnects, it was clear that an enormous amount of research went into the design of the cables. This new technology led to the subsequent release of the Galileo Universal Speaker Cells and Interconnects Cells.

Dropping the other shoe:
The new Synergistic Research Element series of interconnects and speaker cables were developed as a direct result of the research work done on the Galileo system, along with a fresh approach to the materials and designs which had been used in Synergistic Research's Tesla series cables.

The new Element series cables are based around the use of an air-dielectric system similar to the Galileo series cables. The Active Shielding that has been a hallmark of all recent Synergistic Research high end cable designs has once again been implemented and now combined with this air dielectric and with the ability to "tune" the active shielding by the use of three included Enigma circuits. We first saw these Enigma circuits introduced with the current SE versions of their power cords earlier this year.

The name "Element" for this series of cables comes from the listening tests of prototype cables made with 12 different pure elements chosen from the periodic table of the elements. The three materials that ended up being the winners in this extensive testing were Copper, Tungsten (!), and a hybrid of Copper, Tungsten, and Silver.

The new Element series of cables seem to mix and match more happily with other cables of different materials, designs, and manufacturers than the previous Synergistic Research series. In addition, the design of the air dielectric tubes is such that the cables are lighter in weight, thinner, and more flexible than Synergistic Research cables of the past - most welcome!

The Element Copper interconnects ($1200/1m pair) and speaker cables ($1700/8ft pair) are the entry point to the new Element series. Entry point pricing, perhaps, but certainly not entry point performance! The Element Copper cables compare favorably to some of the best, most expensive cables in the industry, with vivid, dramatic performance, and terrific resolution.

The Element Tungsten interconnects ($2000/1m pair) and speaker cables ($2800/8ft pair) help produce some of the most holographic soundstaging and dramatic dynamic effects that you will ever hear in a system. It is also the first use of a pure Tungsten conductor in an audio cable that we are aware of.

The Element Copper/Silver/Tungsten interconnects ($3600/1m pair) and speaker cables ($7500/8ft pair) are as close as possible in performance to the uber-expensive Galileo system cables themselves, at a fraction of their cost.

At each level, these Element Series cables are remarkable . Synergistic Research once again raises the bar.

We have a few sets now, and The Cable Company will have these new Synergistic Research cables available in quantities in our Cable Lending Library over the course of the few weeks. Book now!
