For 25 years MIT has been following their own heavy engineering approach to cable design using discrete electronic components in a "box" on the cables to sculpt and extend linear cable response and enhance articulation. They have a patent, which they do not share with that other notable manufacturer who also use a "box," on the best way to accomplish this - in parallel to the signal path. Their designs have often moved the bar for other cable manufacturers.
MIT's "statement" products are their Oracle Series. Just released, the new 4th generation "Dot-2" Series Oracles are the best cables MIT has ever developed, which is saying something. Dot-2 is an extension of MIT's 2C3D (2 channel, 3 dimensional) sonic hologram approach to balancing detail, imaging, and soundstaging.
There are three levels to Oracle: 3.2, 2.2, and at the pinnacle, 1.2. All three feature interconnects with selectable impedance for matching source with preamp, and preamp with amp, and a choice of Wide or Ultrawide bandwidth speaker cables, the choice of which will depend on the specific amplifier in use.
