HiFi-Tuning Announces Fuse Upgrade
|
In a "running change" to their production, earlier this year all of the terrific upgrade fuses from HiFi-Tuning got even more terrific with a few days in the cryo chamber. No price change, at least for now, just more performance!
Still one of the best bangs for the buck in high end audio! Read the latest review on these fuses at Positive Feedback.

New from Synergistic Research
|
|
Finally someone has an upgrade cable for the Aego System... For many years our favorite entry level audio system, or the system we most often recommend for use with a computer, or as a graduation gift, is the Aego-M system from Acoustic Energy. This system, comprising two tiny little speakers and a powered sub, was a big hit at the original $599 price, but over time as production volume increased the price dropped $100 at a time to settle at the current, amazing price of $199 for the three piece system with connecting cables included.
But we are audiophiles, and we want MORE. The Aego system comes with skinny little cables that run RCA connectors at the powered sub (yes, RCA's) to bare wire at the little bitty main speakers. We knew someone could do better, and now Synergistic has with their most excellent upgrade speaker cable called "Aego Spec." Priced at $75 for a 6 ft pair, or $80 for 8ft (add $6.50 per foot per pair for additional length) - if you use the Aego, time to upgrade that wire!
While you are at it you may want to consider upgrading the Mini-plug to RCA interconnect linking the Aego system to your computer or Ipod or disc player. We show a dozen or so iPod cables on our website. If you want the new iPod cable from Synergistic incorporating their Tesla Series "Tricon" conductor geometry, this is their "TriPod" model ($250/1m).
With careful gifting your favorite teenager may turn into an audiophile yet!

And in the more esoteric world of high end phono cables...
|
Synergistic has also been busy working in the exotic world of the extreme low level, unamplified signals produced by a phono cartridge. These most fragile of all audio signals require special cables which connect with a DIN to the base of the tonearm, or to RCA outputs for some tonearms. Synergistic now has two in their new Tesla series. If you are in the market for tonearm cables you should short-list these for audition through The Cable Library:
Vortex Analog: $400 /1m set Tricon Analog: $800/ 1m set

Running Springs Audio increasing prices
|
|
Our nominee for the least expensive state-of-the-art line filter for many applications is the Running Springs Haley. Read our previous email on this great line conditioner here. At $1199 it is half (or less) the price of the other contenders. But this price is just too good to last, and in mid -September all Running Springs Audio line filters are increasing in price from $200-$300 each. Don't delay! (And in August 30% of your Running Springs purchase will benefit CARE.)

Stereovox also increasing prices
|
And don't forget that Stereovox prices are also headed up at the end of August. As we wrote last time around:
If there is one giant killer in the Stereovox line, it must be their pure 75 ohm XV2 digital cable.
XV2 current prices:
$149.99/1m $199.99/1.5m
