PS Audio adds Remote Control to the GCPH phono stage. The GCPH is a terrific application of the gain cell design and technology developed by Paul McGowen.  With more and more analog users switching to low output cartridges for greater detail retrieval, particularly at the frequency extremes, the problem has been the noise cause by trying to amplify these tiny sub1mV signals into an output level that matches the other components - somewhere around 2 Volts.  The traditional method of handling this large of an increase in gain has been to use what is called step-up transformers in addition to the phono preamplifier.  This has added both expense and more cables to the analog playback system.

PS Audio's approach using the high gain, low noise input stage and a gain stage output has resulted in a very quiet, and good-sounding phono stage that rivals the performance of some of far more expensive, exotic phono stages available today.  And the GCPH includes useful features that are found on very few phono stages at any price:

4 selectable gain settings (48,54, 60 and 66db)
4 selectable impedance settings (100,500, 100, and 47k Ohms)
XLR and RCA outputs
Phase and Mono front panel switches
Front panel volume control to fine tune the output to match your other components, or to be used as a single source preamplifier directly to the amp.

The PS Audio packs a lot of features and  performance into an attractive package at the very reasonable price of $995. And now a remote control to manage the front panel controls is included for no extra cost.

Available for in-home audition through The Library.

The PS Audio Juicebar II.
The PS Audio Juicebar II  answers a frequently asked question:
"What is the best, simple outlet extension strip with no added filtration?"

The Juicebar II is the brand new, upgraded version of one of the most popular products that PS Audio ever made.  The Juicebar II is a very well-made, audio quality power strip with 4 duplex outlets allowing you to plug in 8 components.  There is no filtration, no current limitation, and no AC degradation - just the added flexibility to plug multiple components into the same circuit.

So what's so great about a high end power strip?  As well as being a problem solver when you just need more outlets, this type of power strip also allows you to use a single outlet conditioner, like the Audience aR1p or the PS Audio Soloist for example, to provide clean, conditioned power and protection to many more pieces of equipment than just the one or two inputs you had before.  Or if you have a dedicated AC circuit, the JuicebarII will let you use a single duplex for your whole system to give all of your components the benefit of better AC.

The Juicebar II is constructed with a solid aluminum chassis and uses solid copper bus bars that are equivalent to 2 gauge wiring.  Just add your favorite power cord and you are in business!  At $199.95, the Juicebar II is highly recommended.

New Interconnects from Synergistic Research.
We recently featured the new statement power supply for Active Shielding cables known as the Enigma.  The sheer sex appeal of this tube-based dream-come-true Active Shielding driver could overshadow Synergistic's new non-Active Shielding cables, but it shouldn't.

Introducing the Tesla Au79.  Synergistic has been just as busy with conductor design as with Active Shielding, and the Au79 cable is the result of their experimentation with combinations of gold and silver in their conductor designs. The result is a richly harmonic cable, with great spatial qualities, ideal for digital source to preamp or surround processor applications. $500/1m pairs (+$75 for XLR version).

Synergistic continued....
Tesla Magnetic Tricon Interconnects.
An extremely high resolution cable incorporating the "Tricon Lens" geometry used in the Tesla series Active Shielding cables, the Magnetic Tricon interconnects set a high standard for transparency and speed in the under $1000 cable category. Can be used throughout the system, or combined for added midrange "bloom" with the Au79 between digital source and preamp, and Magnetic Tricon from preamp to amp. $800/1m pairs (+$75 for XLR version).

The Magnetic Tricon is also sonically similar (and similarly priced) to Synergistic's new "Tricon Analog" phono cable, with which we have been having great success.

All are available through the Cable Library for in-home audition.
