PS Audio Soloist Power Conditioner

By now everyone has been bombarded with information about the new products from PS Audio, including the new Premier power regenerator. One product that may have gotten lost in the avalanche of news is the new Soloist Power conditioner.
The Soloist is a single duplex outlet with a built-in filter, contained in its own quad-outlet size electrical box. This device is ideal for home theater projectors and other smaller setups where power conditioning and surge protection is required, but space is at a premium. Installation is a snap - turn off your circuit breaker and drop in and connect the wires if replacing a quad outlet, or for a duplex outlet replacement, align the included template on the wall (or ceiling for projectors), cut the hole using a drywall saw, connect the 3 wires, push the box assembly into the hole, and turn the screws to lock the box into place. Once you turn the breaker back on, you have a built-in power conditioner that will improve your picture or sound quality significantly, as well as providing your equipment with surge and spike protection. The cost is only $199 and a few minutes of your time to install.

Cruise the World with the Acoustic Energy WiFi Radio

We told you recently about the re-release of the cute little Aego speaker system, but neglected to mention Acoustic Energy's cute little WiFi Radio. Since the advent of broadband access to the internet, people have been discovering that there are thousands of radio services available on-line. Now Acoustic Energy has come up with their WiFi radio system, which allows those of you with access to a WiFi network to receive streaming radio stations from all over the world. With just a simple connection to any Wi-Fi network, the radio displays literally thousands of station names/formats and lets you choose whatever type of music/talk/news station you would like to listen to - no subscription, no additional charge. Selection is easy - there is a menu function button that guides you thru selection of stations by type, format, and in alphabetical order.
The WiFi Radio from Acoustic Energy is a complete compact radio, which allows you to listen to your favorite stations in any room in the house. The WiFi radio also is fully MP3 compatible, so you can play music that you may have (legally, we hope) downloaded and stored on your pc's hard disk.
The Acoustic Energy WiFi radio is a very welcome addition to any home that has WiFi Internet service, and would make a great gift! Only $299.

Sale Extended on Cathedral Sound Room Dampening Panels

Our recent introduction of the Cathedral Sound Damping Panels has been so popular that we have extended the introductory price special offer of $155 per pair through the end of the month.
The article also generated some questions. The most common questions relate to the placement of the Panels and the number required in a room.
In a nutshell the Panels need to be placed very near the corners of a room and flat on the wall (hung like a picture), either very near the ceiling, or (less preferred) very near the floor.
Also the Panels are most effective if used symmetrically in the room. By this we mean either one in every corner, or two in every corner. Configurations with, say 2 Panels in the corners behind the speakers, and 1 or 0 panels in the corners behind the listener will not work as well as 1 in each corner or 2 in each corner.
In smallish rooms, or low volume systems, or systems with restricted bass response, a single Panel in each corner will do it. For larger rooms, especially systems played at high volume with big bass, two in each corner is the ticket.
