How would you like to DIY??

We just finished loading up an extensive list of DIY (Do it Yourself) products on our website...

Please open this email in your browser to view all included images. To ensure consistent delivery of this publication, please add our sender address - <thecableco@thecableco.pmailus.com> - to your address book. Thank you!

Some of us got into this hobby by building Heathkits or Dynakits back in the day.  Today, many customers prefer to buy cable products that someone else has spent the time, money, research, and effort to build and market.  There are a few of us still around that like (or perhaps miss) the hands-on aspect of the hobby and wouldn't mind taking a crack at making a power cord, speaker cable or interconnect.  Maybe you  are handy enough to run your own in-wall speaker or AC cable rather than pay an installer to do it.  The Cable Company has just finished loading up an extensive list of DIY (Do it Yourself) products on our website that make selecting your projects a whole lot easier and maybe even fun to do.

Finding the DIY information could not be easier.  We have the main categories broken down into three sub-groups  - DIY Cables, DIY Connectors, and DIY Tools and accessories right on the front page of our website.  Click on any one of these categories and you will find even more specific groupings from which to choose.  If you click on any of these groupings, you will go right to the product list.  What could be easier?

In order to make our DIY product listing as extensive as possible, we have worked with many of the top companies to get their product information, pictures, descriptions, and pricing so that our customers can make their selections after reviewing all of the competition.

So What are the HOT products in the DIY arena?
The Bocchino Audio Brenda B19 RCA's and BAXLR connectors are said to be the finest pure copper connectors available.  Silver plated ( in the case of the RCA) with no nickel in the plating process, and an ingenious setscrew system to fasten the conductors to the connector without solder maximizes the sonic purity of the finished cable and allows the DIY'er to use the connector over and over without the hassle of soldering and de-soldering.  Yes, without question, the Bocchino connector is expensive, but for those that want the very best for their projects, this should be at the top of your list.

A Hot Product by ETI:
The ETI (formerly Eichmann) line of products has grown from the industry-leading Bullet Plug to now more than 20 different products including bananas plugs, spades, binding posts, and even finished cables - all with the innovative approach that first brought attention to the company.

DH Labs/Silver Sonic:
DH Labs/Silver Sonic is another company that might not be all that familiar to our customers, but it is a company that produces a wide variety of more than 50 products from cable to connectors to adapters, even finished cables.  High quality parts and materials at reasonable prices  are the hallmark of DH Labs and this is a company whose products are very much in demand with the DIY crowd.

Of special note, DH Labs produces one of the very best RCA connectors in the industry. Their Ultimate RCA connector is gold plate over 99%+ pure copper.  Unlike some other connectors which are part brass/ part copper/ part who knows what else, the Ultimate RCA connector is one of the finest, most highly conductive connectors available anywhere.
Cardas Audio:
Cardas Audio is a company that is very well known for producing some of the finest cables in audio.  What many of our customers don't realize is that Cardas also offers a tremendous selection of parts, connectors and bulk wire for those of us that prefer to "roll our own".  Even more interesting, Cardas offers a solder pot, several types of their solder (with and without lead) and even flux available separately.   Cardas has one of the most comprehensive product offerings in the DIY category of any manufacturer - and you thought they "just" made cables...

Kimber Kable:
Kimber Kable along with the affiliates WBT and Wattgate is another company that is fully committed to serving the DIY hobbyist.  From Kimber spades to WBT RCA connectors and AC outlets to some terrific internal wiring, Kimber has made available to the DIY'er an extensive list of products that they use to make their own fine cables so that you have the same opportunity to use these high quality parts and cables for your home projects.
Audio Grade Outlets:
We also handle a wide variety of "audio grade" outlets, all of which have performance characteristics that make them better for your audio system than what you can buy in your local Home Depot, or even "hospital grade" connectors.    For example:

Acme Audio $45 - cryogenically treated with silver plated contacts
FIM 886GP - $90 - gold plated contacts and isolated ground
Shunyata Research SR-Z1 - $75 - cryo treated and great grip on the plug
Oyaide SWO-XXX - $86 - gold and palladium plated contacts
Oyaide R-1 $125 - Beryllium copper prongs plated with platinum and palladian
Wattgate 381 - $148 - gold or silver plated versions with isolated ground and Nylon body
+ PS Audio, Furutech, and more.  We are also looking forward to being able to offer the ESP (Essential Sound Products) wall outlet - the same duplex that they use in their ultra performance reference power distribution center. This custom manufactured, hospital grade, 98% copper receptacle may be the best under $50 duplex outlet available!

Upgrading the wall outlet that you use as the primary AC source for your system will have beneficial results on the quality of the sound for the entire system.  Click here for our complete catalog of 40+ outlet choices.

Special This month - Until the end of February 2008, all outlets (Oyaide excluded) and in-wall AC electrical wire will receive 15% off special pricing.

And what could be easier DIY than a fuse upgrade...
Sometimes, no matter how often we let people know about a really great inexpensive system upgrade there are still skeptics that need to hear second and third opinions before making the plunge.

Last month, the HFT fuses received their third major award  - this time the
2007 Writers' Choice Award from Positive Feedback online to go along with the StereoTimes award in December and the  Stereophile Recommended component award earlier in the year.  You can take a look at these awards and link to the reviews from our Ultra Systems website.
